Bird Sanctuary The greenhouse is heated to 40 degrees, to keep water flowing and the guy (me), who feeds them, safe from falling on ice. I have had many types of birds in the cages since 1987. However, the one I like the most is the Nene Goose. When I talk to them, they listen. It’s fun to have them quack back at you. I still raise chickens, for their eggs and a few bantams for shows. |

Birds get along The pheasants are friendly in the greenhouse, since you’re walking thru the middle of the cages. All the ducks are full-wing and can fly the length of the greenhouse, which is 96’ long. The pool of water is 85’ long by 4’ wide and 12” deep. |

All Automatic I have well water for filling the pool. As for the chickens & pheasants, I have set up automatic water times to fill their water dishes. They won’t run out of water this way. Feed is placed in large bowls & feeders, which I refill every two to three days. This way, if I have to be somewhere early in the morning, I know there is food & water until my return home, later in the day. |
